Fv432mk1
The
most obvious external feature that distingushes the mk1 from the
rest of the family is the different mounting of the exhaust. These
few pictures show that the mk1 has a plain left hand side as the
exhaust is routed along the left hand side of the hull roof. |
The
plain left hand side of the hull. As with the first petrol
engined models, you can see the exhaust is on the roof under
the guard. |
| The
right hand side of the hull is similar as the Fv432mk2, with
the protruding NBC pack |
The
exhaust heat guard can be seen to the right . |
|
| The
NBC guard is missing, but you can see where it was mounted. |
This
Mk1 has the standard rear jerry can stowage boxes, I believe
the early model ones had fuel tanks mounted here.
|
|
| The
Mk1 has an access hatch to the Rolls Royce B81 power pack, seen here
removed on the hull side. Shame this feature couldn't have been some
how incorporated into the Mk2's. Would have made starter and oil filter
changes a lot easier. |
| From
the front the Mk1 appears the same as the Mk2's |
