In
2006 the MOD had their remaining 432's updated to the mk3.
Due to health and safety issuses, the steering and braking
systems had to be split up. With the mk1, mk2 and mk2/1's
the tillers were both braking and steering. Now with the mk3
they are independent systems.
The
tillers have been replaced by a steering yoke and a separate
brake pedal. To achieve this the pack was reinvented. A Cummins
engine now replaces the aged K60. To allow this modification
the front glacis plate access had to , extra armour has been
fitted to the vehicle so it can operate in a hostile enviroment. |
