The Ptarmigan system is a battlefield radio network, which consists of three version of the fv439. They are the Radio Relay (RR) vehicle, the Message Centre vehicle and a Line 20 Auto Exchange vehicle. The RR version is equipped with the Clark 12m Scam Mast. The other two are visually similar on the outside. The MSG centre vehicle has tele-printers and the Exchange is crammed full of equipment. |
